Denis was welcomed into the world on December 28, 2015. His parents, David and Candice, finally brought him home after he received phototherapy treatment for having jaundice and spending a week in the hospital. He was soon diagnosed with Biliary Atresia and ultimately Alagille syndrome. Denis now requires a liver transplant and receives multiple medications several times a day. Candice and David currently are not working to help with Denis’ daily medical needs while waiting for transplant. Once a suitable donor is found and the transplant occurs, it will continue to be months away from home while Baby Denis recovers and receives the medical treatment he needs.

I am asking for your help to reduce the financial hardship to David and Candice as they go through this journey with their amazing little man!

Stay tuned for future fundraising events!

Latest Update

Baby Denis has had an exciting year as he starts to develop into a little man and grow into his personality. He likes bacon and wood blocks but mostly spending time with mom and dad! These past few months, Denis has had many visits to Edmonton with specialists to monitor his growth and wait for a liver transplant. After many months of waiting, and no donor turning up, they decided to complete additional testing for his mom, Candice, to see if there was any possibility for her to be a live donor for Denis even though their blood types were not a match. On Wednesday, Denis and his family got the green light for Mom to be a live donor and they will move forward with the liver transplant. The family has arrived in Edmonton to prep them both for the surgery and undergo the operations. Obviously, as we approach Denis’ First Birthday and Christmas, it is not an easy time for any family to be undergoing medical procedures, but it just cannot wait anymore. We will keep you posted!
